The Befriending Scheme provides friendship and learning opportunities for vulnerable people (16yrs+) across Suffolk, including those with learning disabilities, mental health needs, older people, and other isolated groups.
Our core activities include: regular drop-in centres, known as Hubs (for adults with additional needs and / or mental health issues - located in Sudbury, Haverhill and Lowestoft), and evening Out and About groups (in Haverhill and Lowestoft) and building meaningful One-to-One friendships between adults (with additional needs) and volunteer befrienders.
Our community care farm (Red Rose Community Farm) in Lindsey Tye offers a safe and supportive outdoor learning environment which is accessible to a wide range of vulnerable individuals and groups, such as adults and young people who have a learning disability, children who have special educational needs and their families, and people struggling with poor mental health.
