Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) provides access to primary care psychological therapy services through Hertfordshire Talking Therapies (formerly known as the Hertfordshire Wellbeing Service) and Mid Essex Talking Therapies (formerly known as Health in Mind).
Hertfordshire Talking Therapies and Mid Essex Talking Therapies services are part of the NHS Talking Therapies, for anxiety and depression programme, offering free and confidential talking therapy and practical support for Hertfordshire and Mid Essex residents.
We use talking therapies to work with anxiety disorders and depression. Anxiety and depression are normal emotions which we all experience, but can sometimes become excessive or distressing. Conditions we treat include low mood, worry and sadness, stress and panic, and repetitive negative thoughts.
If any of these reflect what you’re experiencing, you can quickly refer yourself for assessment. Our team of experienced therapists will work with you to understand your challenges and put in place tools and techniques to manage difficult feelings.
We are available to anyone over the age of 16 (17 in Mid Essex) who is registered, or intending to be registered with a GP, in Hertfordshire or Mid Essex. In addition to our standard service, we have dedicated offerings delivered by clinicians with additional specialist training. The range of support can vary depending on availability in your local area.
