About this service

EYECAN is Jersey’s only charity focused solely on supporting Islanders with sight impairment. We work closely with all age groups, from infants through to the elderly, enabling people with a sight impairment and their families to benefit from tailored support. The charity matches clients to assistive equipment, provides mobility, communication, and activities of daily living training to support independence, and offers social and activities opportunity. A person’s response to the diagnosis of sight loss often reflects the different stages of the bereavement process. It is common to experience denial, anger, anxiety, and sadness. EYECAN understands this and when required will signpost you to appropriate mental health support. Don’t be afraid to speak to us about the impact sight loss has had on your life. We are here to help and will support you to achieve a more positive future.
