Junction 17 (J17) is a specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) for young people aged 13 – 17 who require assessment and treatment for a range of complex mental health difficulties. The team at J17 provide a range of services within our double award winning state-of-the-art inpatient unit, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As well as inpatient services, J17 operates a four day a week day service for young people with mental health needs. Our team of CAMHS trained mental health professionals work with young people who are experiencing mental health difficulties including psychosis, complex PTSD, mania, depression, anxiety, self-harm and eating related difficulties. We support autistic young people and those who may have a diagnosis of ADHD or mild to moderate learning difficulties. The focus of treatment at Junction 17 is on helping the young person to understand their mental health issues, build coping skills, and rebuild their functioning through a range of therapeutic interventions. The ultimate goal of the team at J17 is to help the young person to recover from the mental health issues sufficiently to be able to go back to their life. The team also provides support to families are carers via advocacy, social care support and family therapy. The service has an on-site Ofsted inspected educational provision, Cloughside College, so that the young people in our care can continue education whilst they receive specialist mental health support.
