About this service

BoB is a community of peers embracing staff, volunteers and trustees. It is managed and run by predominantly by individuals who have themselves had issues with drugs and alcohol. We run open access, adaptive and flexible activity hubs that operate at weekends and in the evenings, when other services are closed. These operate in seven London boroughs: Barking & Dagenham; Ealing; Hammersmith & Fulham; Harrow; Hillingdon; Kensington & Chelsea and Newham. They run out of our partner agencies substance use treatment services. Providing recovery support services in this way brings ‘added-value’ to the public investment in treatment. We run a range of activities drawn from a menu specifically designed to support health and wellbeing and support recovery. These include health improvement activities (badminton, walking groups, cycling); wellbeing activities (yoga, food & coffee social groups, gardening, Tai Chi); mental health support (CBT groups, SMART recovery groups, meditation); social activity groups (art & craft clubs, music, writing, film). We also operate an extensive online service, available 7 days a week and throughout the year. In addition to some of the activities highlighted above, the online programme also offers: parenting in recovery groups; LGBTQIA groups; recovery support groups; women & men only groups. Acorn Hall Weekend Service: SATURDAY Drop-in: 10.30-2.30pm. SUNDAY Drop-in: 10.30-2.30pm.
