About this service

The Greenwich Home Treatment Team (HTT) provides short-term (two to three weeks) interventions for service users experiencing a mental health crisis. We work with patients who should otherwise have been admitted to an inpatient ward.

We are a multidisciplinary team. This means we are a group of professionals who specialise in different areas of medicine but work together to make decisions about how to care for patients. Our team includes:

  • Medical doctors

  • Psychologists

  • Experienced nurses

  • Senior support workers

  • Social workers

To access this service, you must:

  • Live in Greenwich

  • Be aged between 18 and 68

This service is provided by the NHS.

Referral (how to access)

The Greenwich Home Treatment Team accepts written and oral referrals from:

  • Community mental health services

  • Mental Health Liaison Team (MHLT)

  • Crisis Line

  • Inpatient ward

  • GPs

  • Other healthcare professionals

We do not accept self-referrals or referrals for people who:

  • Have no fixed address

  • Live outside the borough of Greenwich

  • With a high-risk condition that cannot be managed at home

  • Refuse to work with the Greenwich HTT

We offer all new patients an assessment appointment. We then decide whether to accept or decline the referral.
