About this service

We are your local, independent mental health charity within the Mind network. We focus on improving the mental health and wellbeing of people from across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. 

We provide a range of support services, information and guidance to local individuals and communities to improve their mental health and wellbeing. 

Our services are for adults of 18+


Community Wellbeing Service

The Community Wellbeing Service is a one-to-one early intervention service for adults who are registered with a GP practice in North-West Leicestershire and experiencing emerging, non-complex, mild to moderate mental health needs.

Over several sessions with one of our advisors, we will offer non-clinical advice, allowing you a safe space to recognize and understand your emotions. We will explore a range of tools and techniques that are designed to improve your wellbeing.

Good Mood Groups

Our Good Mood Groups provide supportive and friendly environments to meet and connect with new people. No matter how you are feeling when you arrive, you will leave feeling in a better mood. We have various drop in cafes and a gentle walking group.

Neighbourhood Mental Health Café

The Braunstone Neighbourhood Mental Health Café provide accessible and safe support to individuals who are experiencing difficulties with their emotional wellbeing and mental health.

Anyone accessing the café can expect immediate face-to-face support including referring or signposting to longer-term support, wellbeing activities such as mindfulness and creative arts, themed workshops, and confidential one-to-one support to discover coping strategies, and undertake action planning and problem solving with a trained member of staff.

Supported Self Help

Supported Self Help is a 6-session, early intervention programme for anyone who is starting to experience symptoms of worsening mental health. 

Trained mental health practitioners will support you one-to-one, on any of the eight pathways (Anxiety, Low mood, Low self-esteem, Stress, Feeling alone, Managing anger, Grief and loss, Menopause) and develop a personalised toolkit of strategies that works for you. The sessions are delivered via telephone calls, online video calls, or face-to-face in local community venues across Leicestershire – whichever option is best for you and your needs. 

This service is currently available to residents in Charnwood, Hinckley and Bosworth and Melton.
