We are your local, independent mental health charity within the Mind network. We focus on improving the mental health and wellbeing of people from across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
We provide a range of support services, information and guidance to local individuals and communities to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
Our services are for adults of 18+
Community Wellbeing Service
The Community Wellbeing Service is a one-to-one early intervention service for adults who are registered with a GP practice in North-West Leicestershire and experiencing emerging, non-complex, mild to moderate mental health needs.
Over several sessions with one of our advisors, we will offer non-clinical advice, allowing you a safe space to recognize and understand your emotions. We will explore a range of tools and techniques that are designed to improve your wellbeing. To refer please contact your GP surgery reception team.
Good Mood Groups
Our Good Mood Groups provide supportive and friendly environments to meet and connect with new people. No matter how you are feeling when you arrive, you will leave feeling in a better mood. We have drop in cafes, gentle walking groups and men’s In Touch rugby group.
No need to book, just drop in.
Neighbourhood Mental Health Café
The Neighbourhood Mental Health Cafés provide accessible and safe support to individuals who are experiencing difficulties with their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
Anyone accessing the cafés can expect immediate face-to-face support including referring or signposting to longer-term support, wellbeing activities such as mindfulness and creative arts, themed workshops, and confidential one-to-one support to discover coping strategies, and undertake action planning and problem solving with a trained member of staff.
For detail of venues and opening hours please see our website.
Supported Self Help
Supported Self Help is a 6-session, early intervention programme for anyone who is starting to experience symptoms of worsening mental health.
Trained mental health practitioners will support you one-to-one, on any of the eight pathways (Anxiety, Low mood, Low self-esteem, Stress, Feeling alone, Managing anger, Grief and loss, Menopause) and develop a personalised toolkit of strategies that works for you. The sessions are delivered via telephone calls, online video calls, or face-to-face in local community venues across Leicestershire – whichever option is best for you and your needs. Leicester City and Rutland Supported Self Help will be delivered via telephone calls and online video calls only.
