The Parent and Carer (PACS) project, is dedicated to supporting parents and carers in Greater Manchester who are concerned about their child or worried they may be at risk.
What does PACS provide?
Encounter: The PACS team deliver an eight-week course called Encounter. The course is based on the principals of Non-Violent Resistance (NVR). This is a fantastic therapeutic programme that is especially of benefit to parents who are struggling to maintain boundaries and high-parental presence in the home.
Peer Support: As part of Encounter parents are connected with each other and will have access to chat groups to offer encouragement and support when they need it most. For parents that complete the Encounter programme there is also the opportunity to give back and become a Peer Practitioner on a future course.
One to one support: PACS workers also offer support and advocacy at professional meetings and short-term crisis intervention support.
Workshops and support groups: The team host a range of workshops and peer support groups in collaboration with parents and carers.
Access to Counselling and Therapeutic Services: We believe that parents need to look after themselves. For parents that identify that their past and present trauma impacts their ability to parent, we can connect them with therapeutic services to provide them with a space to look at this.
Request a call back or make a referral and a member of the team will arrange a face-to-face appointment to get you started.
