Carers in Hertfordshire provides advice, information and support to people who care for a partner, relative, friend or neighbour, as they need help due to an illness, disability, frailty or they misuse drugs or alcohol. The charity supports unpaid carers of all ages – children and adults – if they live, work or care in Hertfordshire. Bereaved carers can also access support for up to three years after the death of the person they looked after.
Ensuring Hertfordshire's carers are identified, informed, supported and heard, is at the heart of the charity’s work. Services are provided free to carers - online, over the phone and in person.
Services include:
Information and guidance – Carer Support Advisors help answer your caring related queries, with planning your caring role or navigating services.
Mentoring or support via groups such as Hubs.
Workshops and events.
Opportunities to share your views and experiences and shape health, social care and community services in Hertfordshire.
Carers’ Passport – an ID to show your caring role that also gives access to savings from businesses such as restaurants and shops.
A Care Service in Hertsmere, Three Rivers and Watford - Care Support Workers provide individual packages of care through home care or Carers' Breaks.
