About this service

The Slow Girls Walk Club™ was created in July 2024 to support women’s mental health, confidence, and connection through the simple act of walking. Born from a need for slower, more mindful spaces, the club encourages women of all ages, shapes, and fitness levels to come together, walk at their own pace, and feel less alone.

Our walks aren’t about speed or distance — they’re about slowing down, talking openly, and taking time for yourself. Many of our members join to manage anxiety, build confidence, or find friendship in a safe, understanding environment.

Based in the High Peak area, we hold regular group walks that prioritise wellbeing, safety, and community. Thanks to generous local support from High Peak Comps, we’re now equipped with high-vis gear and head torches to keep us safe on evening walks.

The Slow Girls Walk Club™ is more than walking — it’s a movement for mental health, friendship, and self-care. 💖👟

There’s no referral process to join The Slow Girls Walk Club™ — it’s completely open to all women. Whether you’re looking to boost your mental wellbeing, meet new people, or simply enjoy a gentle walk in good company, you’re welcome here. There’s no need for a GP referral, membership form, or prior experience — just come as you are. Our aim is to create a safe, supportive space where every woman feels seen, included, and comfortable moving at her own pace. 💕👟

About the Group

We meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm- And Friday at 9.45am outside Morrisons in Chapel-en-le-Frith (by the big outdoor washing machines!). We also add extra pop-up walks when we can. Everyone is welcome — no sign-up, no pressure, just turn up as you are.
