About this service

Peer Support Plus CIO is a registered charity [1190818], operating in Leeds since March 2020.

We offer FREE, weekly, two-hour, Peer-facilitated Support Groups. Safe, kind, and supportive, confidential meetings where you can learn by listening to others’ lived experiences and, when you feel ready, relating yours to people who are not part of your everyday life.

All our trained Peer-facilitators are volunteers with lived experience of managing their own mental health.

Participants sign up to a set of aspirations we call Guidelines for Behaviour – treating everyone kindly, equally and non-judgementally, respecting confidences, keeping us all safe.

Typically, each week, four participants will take time to talk about some difficult feelings they have experienced, and listen to others describe how they dealt with similar feelings.

You can talk about the issues affecting your mental health week after week until you feel they are managed or resolved. Participation is open-ended so you can attend one of our Support Groups for as long as you feel the benefit. It’s okay to leave and its okay to come back.

We meet in-person at Little London Community Centre LS7 1HF on Wednesday afternoons from 13.00 to 15.00; or online by Zoom on Tuesday evenings from 18.30 to 20.30. We have internet-connected tablets to loan so that nobody is excluded from participating by Zoom from a private space.

***Please note: You can call us at 07434 614 829 at any time, but our Volunteers work irregular hours, so you may be asked to leave a voicemail message. We aim to respond within one working day.***
