About this service

National Suicide Prevention Helpline UK is a helpline offering a supportive listening service to anyone with thoughts of suicide. Our lines are open every day from 6 pm until midnight, offering a safe haven for anyone who needs someone to talk to.

You're not alone; please don't hesitate to reach out. Our helpline is here to support you when you feel you need us. This can be different for everybody – some people can reach that point daily, and for some people it is a rare occurrence. Our helpline volunteers are empathic and non-judgemental, providing a space and time for you to talk about how your feeling or somebody close to you.

The helpline is a confidential service for those aged 18 or over. For more information on confidentiality, please visit our homepage.

When our thoughts are being unkind to us, it can be very scary and lonely. You do not have to face these thoughts alone.

Please contact us today on 0800 587 0800 (Option 1), where we can help guide you through whatever situation or feelings you may be facing right now.

I need help for someone else

If you are concerned about someone you know, and are unsure how to support them, please contact us today on 0800 587 0800 (Option 1).

We will help guide you through steps you can take to help them get the support they deserve.
